Backyard Birds Sanctuary was born from a collective decade of clinical wildlife care, the heartbreaking experience of inheriting pet parrots, and an intense love for pigeons.

At BBS, we strive to create a safe, stable, forever space for exotic birds in continuous transition from home to home (and we hope to eventually also extend this care to displaced wild birds who are not suited for release back into the wild).

Because a life in captivity for any bird is not ideal, our goal extends beyond providing the mere basics throughout their lifetime(s). Our deepest hope is to personally connect with and understand the complex personalities and unique needs of each bird in an effort to provide them the tools and environment to live enriched and engaged lives.
